Did you know that stress can affect your oral health?

Dental Issues Linked to Stress
*Teeth grinding can lead to enamel erosion, Sensitivity and even cracked teeth. Can cause jaw pain and TMJ. 
*Compromised immune system- allows bacteria and inflammation to build in your mouth
*Abscess-natural defence against infection is compromised
*Bleeding gums, have been linked to prolonged stress 
*Bad breath-stomach acids build up in times of stress causing bad breath and dry mouth
*Cheek biting-common sign of stress, Can cause lesions in the cheeks, allowing bacteria to enter.
*Sore/Clicking Jaw-also a common sign of stress
 
Remember to always see your dentist and hygienist regularly.
