Go Green for Healthy Teeth

 

Leafy greens are not only healthy for your body, but they also provide essential vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy smile.

Leafy greens contain vitamins such as A, C and k and minerals such as iron and calcium.

 

Leafy greens are also loaded with fiber.  Fiber is beneficial to your oral health as leafy greens require a lot of chewing.  The chewing action generates saliva.  Saliva is necessary to neutralize the acid in our mouth and also helps to clean and rinse teeth.

 

List of leafy greens:

Spinach 

Kale

Collard greens 

Mustard greens

Lettuce-Iceberg, Romaine/Boston

Arugula 

Swiss Chard

Beet greens

Cabbage
