Signs of a Cavity

What is a cavity?

A cavity is the result of tooth decay.

Decay can affect the enamel of the tooth (outer part of the tooth) and the dentin (the inner part of the tooth).

Cavity Signs

•Tooth pain

•Tooth sensitivity

•Broken or chipped/cracked teeth

•Bad breath

•Hole in tooth

•Dark spots on tooth

•abscess -advanced decay

It is important to note that you may not always see these signs of cavities. You may only see signs when the cavity progresses.

This is why it is so important that you practice proper oral hygiene and that you see your dentist and hygienist regularly. Dental checkups and cleanings are your best defence against more serious dental issues.
